This old wimpy metal railing did not do justice to this stately home. This house looks great now with 2x10 rails and 4x4 post balusters. It’s perfect for extra lounging at the next summer party.

You can have a safe railing and get your sofa up and down, too! This 4x4 fits into a simple floor platform and has a hinge mortised into the top.
Simply slip the gate up out of the slots and pull the hinge pin to move the 4x4 out of your way.
